MASSAGE THERAPY CARE
Each BALANCE treatment is uniquely tailored to your individual health care needs, thus establishing a genuine relationship with you and strengthening your outlook on leading a healthy lifestyle.
What can you expect on your first visit?
Let's get started!
You can expect a 60 minute visit on your first appointment with your RMT. We recommend that you arrive 15 minutes early to complete your paperwork. Initially you will be asked to complete a brief form with general information about your overall health and massage therapy requirements.
Then, you'll have a one-on-one consultation with your RMT for the first 5-10 minutes of the schedule hour. You will have a conversation with your Registered Massage Therapist about your overall health and therapeutic requirements.
The remaining time will be dedicated to your massage therapy session/treatment.
Once the session is complete we'll schedule another appointment to secure a time before they're all booked up!
Your Second Visit!
The massage therapist will greet you from the reception area 5 minutes prior to your scheduled massage therapy appointment. The amount of time that is scheduled for the appointment will be used. When booking your next visit, choose from 90 minutes to 30 minutes depending on your health care needs.
Everyone heals at different rates. Your improvement will depend on your nutrition, sleep patterns, daily activities and overall lifestyle. You may get better immediately or it could take time.
Massage Therapy services are provided and billed by Clinic. Balance Chiropractic will provide you with a statement that you can submit to your insurance company to instruct them to send reimbursements directly to you. This can be done either electronically or a printed copy will be made available. Please be aware that with many health plans Massage Therapy may be under "Other" treatments.
What Is Massage Therapy?
"Massage therapy consists primarily of hands-on manipulation of the soft tissues of the body, specifically, the muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints for the purpose of optimizing health.
Massage therapy treatment has a therapeutic effect on the body and optimizes health and well-being by acting on the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems. Physical function can be developed, maintained and improved; and physical dysfunction and pain and the effects of stress can be relieved or prevented through the use of Massage Therapy."
What do Registered Massage Therapists do?
"Modern massage techniques can be traced back to the 1700s and the development of Swedish massage, the first systematic method of therapeutic massage based on physiology. Today’s Massage Therapists use their knowledge of anatomy and physiology to combine traditional Swedish and modern Massage Therapy techniques with exercise and other therapies to treat their clients."
